Old Alabama Town, the Alabama Department of Archives and History and the Kudzu Quilters Guild invite you to a Quilt Share Day and Lecture. The lecture will be Friday, June 16th at noon in the auditorium of the Alabama Department of Archives and History. The Quilt Share Day will be Saturday, June 17th from 10 am until 3 pm in the Old Alabama Town Reception Center. Both events are free to the public, and participants are allowed to bring up tp five quilts to be documented for the Quilt Share Day.

The lecture will host guest speaker Mary Elizabeth Johnson who will give a presentation about the progress of the Alabama Quilt book project. The purpose of the Quilt Share Day is to document and photograph quilts made between 1750 and 1950 and to record their stories for possible inclusion in a book about Alabama quilts. Mary Elizabeth Johnson of Montgomery, who is the author of numerous quilt books, and Carole King, Curator of Collections at Old Alabama Town in Montgomery are preparing the book.
