To order copy prints or images on CD, fill in and print this form, and mail with payment to address below. Checks and money orders payable to ADAH for the appropriate size and number of prints. Credit card payment also accepted.

To request permission to publish a photo, including on the Internet, please fill out a Permission to Publish form.

Notice: Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringment. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a photocopy order, if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Important Information
  • All 5x7 or 8x10 prints are scanned at 600 dpi from originals within the department and printed on photographic paper for inkjet printers or saved on a CD. Prints will be the same size as the originals unless otherwise specified. You will receive the best quality image possible.

  • For oversize prints (11x14 or greater) the ADAH arranges with a Montgomery area photographic vendor to provide researchers with copy prints of photographs from ADAH collections.

  • If a copy negative needs to be made, all costs involved in producing negatives for the production of copy prints will be paid by the researcher at the time of the order. All negatives produced by photographic vendors in the course of making copy prints for researchers become the property of the ADAH.

  • The ADAH charges an additional reproduction rights fee of $100.00 per image for commercial use of its images.

  • Allow TWO TO THREE weeks total for the copy to be made and the print or CD to be mailed. Rush order fee of $50.00 per image (includes $10.00 production fee) for two-day turnaround. Not available for hard copy reproductions larger than 8x10. Digital copies of originals up to 12x17 may be ordered on CD.

  • The ADAH retains legal custody and all copyright privileges of all original negatives, photographs, and new negatives produced in the course of making copy prints for researchers.

  • A reference fee of $15.00 for in-state residents or $25.00 for out-of-state residents may be charged if patron is unable to provide complete citation for the photographs requested. A complete citation consists of either the PN number or the collection number, box number and folder number.

    • If ordering prints, please specify size. Specify "original size" if same size as original image is desired.
