It’s not too late! Sign up now to attend the free Second Annual Open House for Social Studies Educators, June 24 and 25. The first day, Tuesday, June 24, will feature Social Studies content on history, economics, geography, technology, and civics for all grades in concurrent sessions. The second day, Wednesday, June 25, will show teachers how to infuse the arts into their Social Studies classrooms through music, movement, theatre, and the visual arts. Special tours of the Archives and a resource fair with book and map vendors, hands-on activities, and lesson plans will be available each day. Tuesday’s keynote speaker is Dr. Edwin Bridges, Director of Alabama Department of Archives and History, and Wednesday’s keynote speaker is Alabama’s best known storyteller, Kathryn Tucker Windham.
