Official Alabama Renaissance Faire

The official Alabama Renaissance Faire is in Florence Alabama. The first Renaissance Month in Florence was in October of 1987. Today it is held on the 4^th weekend in October each year.

The 12^th through the 16^th centuries are celebrated in Renaissance faires. Authentic costumes, arts and crafts, and food are all a part of the Faire. Visitors can take part in medieval games and hear musicians playing authentic instruments.

The Florence Renaissance Faire became the official state Renaissance faire in 1988.
