ALABAMA'S SECRETARY OF STATE

Thomas B. Tunstall

TUNSTALL, THOMAS B., public official and Secretary of State, was born in 1788, in Pitttsylvania County, Va., and died August 13, 1842, in Baldwin County. He came to Alabama at an early period and was clerk in the land office at Huntsville for a few years after which he was elected clerk of the house of representatives, holding that office without interruption until 1836, when he was made Secretary of State. In 1840, he was again elected principal clerk of the house, and re-elected in 1841. Unmarried. Last residence: Baldwin County.
