Jack Thompson

He grew up in Colbert County and graduated from Colbert County High School. Commissioner Thompson has a B.S. Degree in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee. He has 4 children and seven grandchildren. He spent 31 years with the Cooperative Entension Service, retiring in December 1987.

Commissioner Thompson is past President of the Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce; past Campaign Chairman of the United Way; past President of the Limestone County Cattlemen's Association; a lifetime Director of the State Cattlemen's Association; and lifetime member of the Athens Industrial Development Association. He is the recipient of the 1996 Father of the Year Award presented by the Alabama Cattlewomen's Association.
