Governor Steve Windom was elected Lieutenant Governor on November 3, 1998, after serving in the Senate. He was born on November 6, 1949, in Florence, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of Alabama with B.S. and J.D. degrees. Governor Windom is married to the former Mary Becker. He has two sons: Robert and Thomas. He is a Republican, a Baptist, a member of the Mobile Lions Club, the American Legion #3, The Elks Lodge, and the Athlestan Lodge #369. His hobbies include hunting and fishing.
