Charles Allen Graddick
Attorney General: 1979-1987

Charles Allen Graddick of Montgomery was born December 10, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama, son of Julian and Elvira (Smith) Graddick. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a J.D. degree in 1970. Admitted to the State Bar in 1970, he served as a clerk for the Alabama Supreme Court that year. Mr. Graddick was an assistant District Attorney for Mobile County, 1971-1975 and served as District Attorney for Mobile County from 1975-1979. He was elected Attorney General in the General Election of November 7, 1978. He served in the Alabama National Guard from 1969-1975.
