Melba Till Allen of Grady, Montgomery County, is the daughter of Samuel Ben and Pearley Gertrude (Johnston) Till, born March 3, 1933 at Friendship Community, Butler County, and attended Greenville Public Schools. She was employed in private enterprise until she was elected Auditor of the State of Alabama in the General Election of November 3, 1970 and State Treasurer, November 5, 1974. Mrs Allen left office June 8, 1978. Married to Marvin E. Allen of Grady; children: Judy Kathryn Grimes and Randy Earl.
